Survey Results 2021
A series of surveys are being developed by the team to get an initial idea of what former children of Centrepoint Community would like to see happen to bring about restorative change. The results will be published on this page as they are made available.
The first survey was done in the second half of 2021, and remains open. The results up until mid September are attached here. Further results will be added as they are submitted.
Survey 1 - Initial Screening (July - Sept 2021)
Q1 - How old were you when you lived (or had significant visiting experiences if a child/youth) at Centrepoint? (39 responses)
Young adult (18-25)
None of the above - I have no association with Centrepoint
Respondents could tick more than one age category (to allow for the fact that people's years of experience may have spanned more than one age category), so the % number will come to greater than 100%
Q2 - How do you feel about the idea of a restoration process for former children of Centrepoint? (39 responses)
69% (27 people) were very interested or quite interested. 5.1% (2 people) were opposed.
Q3 - How likely are you to participate in a restorative action process, if the right options were available to meet your needs, and you could be supported with any barriers you might face? (39 responses)
Very unlikely (5.1% 2 people)
Somewhat unlikely (7.7% 3 people)
Somewhat likely (43.6% 17 people)
Very likely (35.9% 14 people)
Depending on what it looks like. Would support a process focused on the children. (2.6% 1 person)
Unsure (2.6% 1 person)
Answer not relevant to question (2.6% 1 person)
79.5% (31 people) were very likely or somewhat likely to participate. Another 2.6% (1 person) would support a child-focused process. 5.1% (2 people) were very unlikely to support a process.
Q4 Further involvement (39 responses)
20 people (51.3%) indicated they want to be involved in shaping what the restoration process could look like.
8 people (20.5%) indicated they are interested in being a part of the restoration process but not wanting to be involved in shaping what this could look like.
1 person (2.6%) indicated they were interested in the restoration process but not in further contact.
6 people (15.5%) indicated they are interested in further contact and being informed.
2 people (5.2%) were unsure
1 person (2.6%) was uninterested in further contact or involvement in the restoration process
An email contact was left by 25 respondents, indicating they either wanted to be involved, or informed
Survey 2 - Follow-up (August 2021)
The link to Survey 2 will be sent to those who responded to Survey 1 and provided the team with a contact email address. Some respondents to Survey 1 stated they would like to be part of the restoration process - but did not provide any contact details for further contact. If you think you might have failed to provide an email, or would like to complete Survey 2 and have not received the link, please let us know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org outlining the issue.
